Ivan SAIKO was the President of the Ukrainian Archery Federation for 33 years from 1968 until 2001. He was also the Vice President of the Archery Federation of the USSR, and the Chairman of the Judge Committee from 1969 until 1991. Mr SAIKO is the organiser of grand international tournaments in Moscow, Kiev, Lviv, Tallinn, as well as other cities.
During his duty in the World Archery (formerly FITA) Technical Committee between 1989 and 2001, he was awarded with a bronze plaquette in 1993.
Ivan SAIKO's main profession, however, is journalism. For many years he has worked in the Ukrainian National News Agency as an editor in chief, and has received multiple national awards, including an award for "a great input into sport journalism of Ukraine" in 2011. He also holds the title of Honorary Journalist of Ukraine.
