From a martial arts background, he became the President of the Nepal Archery Association in 2007 and was elected unopposed to his second term in 2011. Archery, a dormant sport in Nepal, gained momentum and popularity during his tenure.Laxman SHRESTHA provided good leadership and steered the Association in the right direction during difficult times. He was a good leader who had great administrative and operational skills. Besides being the President of the Nepal Archery Association, he was the Vice President of the Nepal Confederation of Sports (NECOS) and a member of the Nepal Olympic Committee. His passing will not only leave a void in the Nepal Archery Association, but in the hearts of everyone who worked with him.He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
