The Barbados Archery Association with the support of their National Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity conducted a level II technical coaches’ course under the expertise of Coach Cindy BEVILACQUA (USA).
Cindy BEVILACQUA is renowned in the archery family: she was the USA Archery Team Olympic leader for the London 2012 Olympic Games and is a level 4 US Archery certified coach.
The nine day course was divided in theoretical and practical sessions with the participation of 18 coaches from Barbados and Trinidad. The sessions in the morning were dedicated to theoretical lessons and in the afternoon the coaches would put in practice the lesson learned at the archery range. The coaches also had some team bonding exercises which contributed to the great atmosphere among them.
The closing ceremony was held in a typical Barbadian style plantation restaurant with the presence of the NOC members, and the participants were delighted to have taken part in this rich and helpful course.
Cindy BEVILACQUA enjoyed being part of this educational experience and will continue to collaborate with the Barbadian archery family. World Archery would like to thank Cindy BEVILACQUA for her contribution to the development of our sport.
